On 12/09/2024 Mount Zion City Hall began receiving several calls from a concerned Whoville resident, Cindy Lou, who told us the Grinch and his dog Max was heading to Mount Zion.Chief Sims then spotted Max playing in the park. Chief Sims gave Max a doggie treat while placing a hidden microphone on his dog collar. When Max returned to the Grinch’s house, the Grinch told Max of all his plans to steal the lights, Christmas decorations, presents, and holiday cheer in Mount Zion.Later that morning, Dan Henderson of the Mount Zion Water Department reported seeing a green and furry creature dressed in a Santa suit trying to steal the Christmas lights from the Mount Zion Christmas tree located in front of the Mount Zion Gym. Fellow employee, Levi Henderson mentioned that the creature had a little dog, who answered to the name “Max”. He also stated that Max was wearing deer antlers.Mount Zion Police Department was then notified that the Grinch and Max were seen in front of the Community Center relaxing on the bench in front of the pond while waiting for Bingo to start (not knowing that there would be no Bingo today). Officer Paine (our codes enforcement officer) gave quick chase and apprehended the suspects.While being lead to the police car the Grinch realized what he had done and made the statement:“It came without ribbons, it came without tags. It came without packages, boxes, or bags." "Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more."And what happened, then? Well, in Mount Zion they say – that the Grinch's small heart grew three sizes that day. And then – the true meaning of Christmas came through.The Grinch realized the wrong in his ways and that crime doesn’t pay.
