The City of Mt. Zion announces with deep sorrow the passing of former Mayor and City Council Member, Donald Newman.
Mr. Newman was one of our most beloved residents, dedicating more than 44 years of faithful service to his community. He served as the sixth elected Mayor of Mt. Zion from 1981 to 1983 and was a longstanding member of the City Council. Throughout his years of service, he also contributed to the community as a member of the Board of Directors for the Carroll County Water Authority and as Chairman of the Board for the Mt.
